Definitely cannot reproduce consistently. It has only happened perhaps 4 times in 3 years, but it is bothersome, especially on GPOs that haven't changed in awhile. Usually I just click yes then redo all security filtering just for good measure.

Dunno, I need repro steps. That Security Filtering piece is designed to be Ned-proof. :)

If you can reliably repro, use PSR.EXE to capture the steps and email the blog contact link so we can start a conversation and see what's up.

And yeah, you can almost read the embarrasment in his reply :)

We sometimes get “The permissions for this GPO in the SYSVOL folder Are inconsistent with those in Active Directory” - but we use (should be using) the security filtering section exclusively...are there other common causes for this?

Great mail from the manager, too.
