1. Try deleting the locally cached content through the GUI.

	a. Vista open the Offline Files control panel. Win7 through the Sync Center click Manage Offline Files

	b. On the General tab, click the View yoru Offline Files button

	c. Navigate under Computers to the folder or a higher level and try to delete the cache content.

*This might take a moment to remove and actually disappear.

2. Re-initialize the database after ensuring that all file have been synced to the server, because anything that was manually pinned or automatically pinned would need to be repinned. If folder redirection is used run "gpupdate /force" and logoff/logon so that the redirection policies will re-apply and re-pin the redirected folders.

942974	On a Windows Vista-based client computer, you can still access offline files even though the file server is removed from the network

The problem is that I deleted a directory on the "server" (its actually just another desktop on the network where we store common files) before I removed the "always available offline" flag on my laptop. I now cannot remove the appearance of this directory on my laptop. I tried recreating it on the server and removing the flag and this looked like it was going to work but after disabling/reenabling Offline files, with reboots inbetween, the directory reappeared. With the directory deleted on the server the appearance on my laptop syas it is offline or the network is disconnected. and all the boxes that might require changing are greyed out. Any help would be appreciated.

Blog: Ask the Directory Services Team | Bscopes Feeds

PingBack from http://feeds.bscopes.com/2009/03/12/blog-ask-the-directory-services-team/
