Another issue (and resolution!) to add... cannot create VHDs

Thought I'd add a resolution to a problem I saw today:

I was trying to create a fixed VHD through the Hyper-V console, but every time I tried to do so, I would get one of two errors--either an error saying that it "cannot connect to the RPC service on computer (localhost)", or that it "might not have permission to perform this task". I knew the permissions were not the issue, so I first suspected that somehow the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service had failed. I tried restarting that (hoping that it wouldn't stop any running VMs--it was a pretty safe bet, but I had a very hard time finding any information about what services can be safely restarted without causing any running VMs to shut down), but I still got the same error.

Looking through some of the logs and the Hyper-V services listed, I saw the Hyper-V Image Management Service as a possible culprit. I restarted that, and voila! Now it created the VHDs.

What about the problem that requires everyone with an nVidia card to use either plain VGA or or XP-64 drivers? Any idea when we can expect Hyper-V to co-exist with nVidia drivers for Server 2008?
