Hello everyone.

With SP1 almost ready to be available to the general public, I thought I’d send out a quick e-mail with a couple issues we’re seen and their resolutions.

Issue: RSAT tools will not install after installing SP1

Remediation: The new version of the RSAT tools will be released in April. We have content here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/joscon/archive/2011/02/11/installing-the-rsat-tools-on-windows-7-sp1-installations.aspx

Issue: Error code 0x800f081f (CBS_E_SOURCE_MISSING)

Remediation: This happens because a non-RTM version of the RSAT tools was installed at one point. Content for this is here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/joscon/archive/2011/02/14/you-receive-exit-code-0x800f081f-when-attempting-to-install-sp1-for-win7-r2.aspx

Issue: Error code 0x800f0a12

Remediation: This happens because automount policy is disabled on the system. Documentation on this is located here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/joscon/archive/2011/02/17/windows-7-2008-r2-service-pack-1-fails-with-0x800f0a12.aspx and here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/windows-7-windows-server-2008-r2-service-pack-1-sp1-installation-error-0x800F0A12

the steps for the above issue didn't work..... can't update Windows 7 to SP1. It still gives 0x800f081f

This solution does not work on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. Cant install any RSAT Tools there. Pls review the solution.
