System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012: Technical Overview In this session get a guided tour of the new Virtual Machine Manager platform from Microsoft. Learn how the VMM 2012 fabric manages the entire datacenter, including bare metal deployment of Hypervisors, management of storage arrays and providers, and integration with other technologies such as update services.  Next learn how to implement private clouds using VMM 2012’s cloud infrastructure, allowing delegation of specific hosts, host groups, and service roles to individual or departmental administrators.  Last, take a look at how VMM 2012 allows you to define multi-tier services consisting of VM’s, applications and then deploy those services across the entire fabric of servers. Total Workstation Lockdown: Your Action Plan Total workstation lockdown isn't for every machine in your organization, but some machines require it. It's usually those "public walk up" machines that we need to manage a little bit differently; the machines that are in the cafeterias, the lobby and the library. The more we think about it, these kinds of machines are everywhere in our organization - inviting attack and ruining our day. Who knows what crazy things people are doing ON these machines - visiting strange web sites and installing evil software. The good news is that Microsoft has a slew of solutions to help you with this very specific problem. And it doesn't mean you need to turn the thumbscrews and go from 0 - 100% lockdown either. Microsoft has a variety of technologies you can choose (and mix and match) to make sure your workstations as locked down only as much as they need to be. DirectAccess: Getting a handle on IPv6 You will learn how to manage IPv6 addresses, configure DHCP for IPv6, auto configure clients and manage IPv6 routing tables. You will discover how broadcasts are replaced with multicast traffic and understand IPv6 name resolution.   John Craddock
DirectAccess: Deploying IPv6 transition technologies IPv6 can co-exist and work over an IPv4 infrastructure. You will learn how to configure the clients and servers to allow IPv6 to traverse an IPv4 network. You will see how the different transition technologies, 6to4, Teredo and IPHTTPS are used to provide IPv6 connectivity for Internet based clients. DirectAccess: Securing the channel with IPsec and deploying DirectAccess During the previous session we will have created end-to-end IPv6 connectivity between a Windows 7 client on the Internet, and servers on the corporate network. In this session you will learn how to secure the communications with IPsec  authentication and encryption.
Having understood all of the components, the Windows 2008 R2 DirectAccess Wizard will be used to automate the configuration of the transition technologies and IPsec.  		John Craddock
