  • I have had major issues with this latest update, none of my appv 5 applications just hang after installing this update, has anyone had any issues?

  • there is only hotfix 4 for x64, not x86?

  • We also have major issue after installing this hotfix.Shared content store mode not working and all applications are streaming locally..(shared content mode also enabled)..anyone facing same issue?

  • Seems like this needs to bake longer, I install the client via DSC using the MSI and this is what I got trying to install the patch: http://i.imgur.com/uSeXUDB.png

The very thing it says isn't there...IS there. Someone half-assed the depcheck.

  • You guys going to give any guidance on these problems?

  • The solution is to extract the msp's like you extracted the MSI's, the installer isn't smart enough to figure it out, that is fair enough I guess, next problem, even though you can install the app-v client without a reboot, you cannot install HF4 without one, even if everything is shut down, which means if you use provisioning and say, DSC, you are screwed, App-V 5 just went from something you could dynamically configure to needing to be baked in, thanks to a stupid hotfix...

  • With regards to the Shared Content Store being set back to 0, that can potentially create ripple effects as I laid out here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2014/06/14/app-v-5-be-careful-toggling-shared-content-store.aspx
Now, on to the patching requiring a reboot: You have kernel\filter drivers in use. In order for those to be refreshed in memory it requires a reboot. This is not limited to just App-V.

  • BTW Alcaron, I see that error when a pre-release or beta of SP2 is installed.
