If we had been using HOLOS

re: Mental Models - Attributes in Analysis Services

I'm sorry that doesn't for it for you. What I mean is thst you can slice, sort or filter on any attribute. By dault attributes are included in aggregations so you will get this behaviour. You can of course override this and have attributes behave like the member properties in sql server 2000 analysis services.

So are you new to analysis services, new to analysis services in sqlo server 2008?

please ping me direct and I'll try and clear up any confusion

Interesting read, we are having a similar issue, while its not street name we have as an attribute, its store. Unfortunately we have about 200,000 stores.

While in sql 2008 and excel 2007 I am able to drag the attribute to the row after applying some filters, I am not able to do filtering on this attribute such as keep selected items / hide selected items. It hangs the PC, any way forward ?

Cheers
