Here's a super short blog post, but the news is really big!
We're really excited about our partnership with Samsung that was announced today.
Working together Samsung and Microsoft are enabling Samsung's new set of devices running KNOX to natively "Workplace Join" to Windows Server Active Directory 2012 R2 (and soon to Windows Azure Active Directory). Additionally we've agreed to work together on enabling Intune to take full advantage of the KNOW MDM API's. This combination will give Microsoft and Samsung's joint customers the ability to incorporate Samsung devices securely into their enterprise environments giving employees the ability to access a wide range of on-premise and cloud based applications and resources from wherever they want to work on the devices they love to work on.
This partnership is a key milestone in our effort to turn Active Directory (on-premise and in the cloud) into the world's preeminent identity management solution for the world of heterogeneous devices and clouds!

Knox support is great but what about support for non - knox android, ios, mac os x, linux, unix, etc?
So all we need to do is upgrade a hundred domain controllers to 2012 R2 to raise the functional level and then we're all set?Not worth it.Not going to happen.
Regarding the comment about needing domain controller upgrade: actually, you don’t need any of your domain controllers to be upgraded to Windows Server 2012 R2. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn268294.aspx for details on the device support in AD in Windows Server 2012 R2.
Ralph - iOS already works. And more platforms are on the way.
