There’s be a lot of demand for the web enrollment pages from Server 2008. For those that have contacted me directly I apologize for the trouble I’ve had getting back to everyone on these. I also know that it some people expressed frustration over having to contact Microsoft Customer Services and Support for these pages, either via phone or initially via email.
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel though! I have it on good authority that the 2008 certificate web enrollment pages (also known as the Longhorn web enrollment pages) will be available for free download from the Microsoft Download Center on Tuesday November 27th.
For those that are wondering what the Blue Hades I’m talking about check out my prior blog post and this KB article.
I’ll add a small comment that I am not the person in charge of making sure it gets there so if there is an unexpected delay I’m not the piñata to hit.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Sad news folks! It looks like the Download Center won’t have the Server 2008 Certificate Web Enrollment pages until January. At least that’s the date I’m hearing now.
Not to worry though-there are still other ways to get these.
First-Contact Microsoft Customer Services and Support to get them. It’s FREE: http://support.microsoft.com/
Second-Download and install a Free trial copy of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition (Release Candidate 1) here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=590F43A1-D739-472A-A2E3-CEE38099A659&displaylang=en .
The second option has the added benefit of giving you a leg up on working with Server 2008 and seeing what it can do for you.
My apologies for the delay folks!
