When you run adprep /forestprep, you are updating the Active Directory schema forest version. Several people have asked, what is the forest schema version for Windows Server 2008 R2. Does SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 change the schema version? I noticed that the schema version does increase when going from non-R2 to R2 in both WIndows Server 2003 and 2008. Thanks.
No it does not.
The objectVersion attribute will display <not set> on any DC other than the schema FSMO role holder in ADUC and/or ADSI Editor...
