Thank you for this helpful information. Recently I would like to customize a management pack to perform monitor action for some network device which didn't support snmp.

Could you show me the sample code on how to create a new class. Very appreciate.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the clarification of targeting rules and monitors! But althought I checked if I selected the right target (with the Discovered Inventory View) I got an error after creating a monitor.

The error stated "Failed to verify Unit Monitor with ID... The requested managementpack element in MP... is not accesible outside this MP...

The selected target is member of a sealed MP. And I created a new MP for the Monitor I wanted to create. After choosing a different Target (from the same sealed MP) it worked. Why did I get that first error?
