"If the service stops responding to SCM queries, then they will be forcibly shut down after three minutes. " Thank you for mentioning that...otherwise "waiting indefinitely" takes a whole different meaning.

Btw, surely all this also applies to Windows Vista SP1?

Yes this should apply to Vista SP1 as well.

After my small business server 2008 evaluation time expired, I purchased the licence and thought the sysem would be back up but my IT tech said the server would have to be rebuillt. Very expensive. Is this normal.
