Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for both IW competent partners and those partners considering a move into the IW competency.  In the UK alone it is anticipated that the market opportunity for IW solutions is £1.5B and Information Worker Solution Services (IWSS) will allow you to begin to generate greater services revenue.
 
As an IW competent partner you can increase sales through the provision of IWSS to your customers.  IWSS are a great way to build your business. They’re easily repeatable offerings with short sales cycles, minimal risk, and low upfront investment. They instantly deepen your portfolio, giving you more to offer existing customers and helping you to attract new ones. Offering these services increases your visibility among business and technical decision-makers, and opens the door to additional sales from training, deployment, licensing, customization, and upgrades.
 
Information Work Solution Services are easy to host and promote, because Microsoft provides everything you need for FREE – including all content, presentations and workbooks, plus complete sales and marketing materials. Webcasts and classroom training sessions are also available to get you and your staff up and running fast, and ready to succeed.
 
What is IWSS?

IWSS enables customers to get more from applications and increase the capabilities of their IT infrastructure. The guidance is delivered through one and two-day workshops by subject-matter experts.

  • One day service - Information Work Business Value Discovery

  • Two day - Information Work Architectural Design Session.

Customers receive practical information that's tailored to their specific business and technology needs, along with a blueprint that can be acted upon immediately.
 
Which customers does this apply to?

  • The customer organization must have software assurance

  • IWSS is available to Open Value agreement customers only (active Multi-Year Open and Open Subscription customers also qualify).

  • Customers can receive IWSS sessions based on the fact they may convert 2 training vouchers to receive the 1 day service (Information Work Business Value Discovery), or convert 4 vouchers to receive the 2 day service (Information Work Architectural Design Session).

How do you become an IWSS Partner?

  • Must be a Certified or Gold Partner.

  • Should either be IW competent, or meet the IW competency criteria

  • Must be trained & certified, by attending the instructor-led Information Work Solution Services training

  • Only one person within your organization needs to attend the classroom delivery training.

There are two types of training:

  1. A web-based tutorial for sales staff (click here to visit the Partner Learning Centre)

    • designed to introduce the sales staff of partner organizations to Information Work Solution Services. Complete this course and you will be enabled to convey the value of these offerings to business and IT decision-makers; offer Information Work Solution Services to your customers; explain the basic Information Work solution scenarios

  2. Classroom training for consultants (click here to register)

    • Consultants of partner organizations can choose from two courses that will give you the skills and knowledge you’ll need to offer and deliver the “Information Work Value Discovery Workshop” and the “Information Work Architecture Design Session.” Participate in one or both of these training courses depending on your customer focus:  business or technology decision makers.

  3. Click on the banner to "Apply to Offer Packaged Services" in left margin of screen

  4. Select the Packaged Service type you would like to apply for

  5. Complete the registration page and accept the Terms & Conditions for Packaged Service Providers (online – by clicking "I Agree"), choose the geographies, languages, and engagement types you would like to support, ensure that your company information is current, & upload your company logo if desired.

  6. Getting paid by Microsoft: Go to the partner area of the tool, SAB 3.0 System; provide Microsoft with the customer name, voucher numbers, and end-result PowerPoint’s (PPTs) of the workshops. Microsoft will then process the request for payment and send payment according to the methods outlined in the Packaged Services Agreement in place with their company.
