On the day I resigned from the web agency I worked for to move to Microsoft the Managing Director (I think in some sort of attempt to stop me from leaving) said ‘There are two types of people in the online industry – those who are clients, and those who are in agencies. You just need to find out which one you are. Give me a call when you are ready to come back.’

Web agencies are amazing places to work – the pressure, the environment and culture plus the talent make it feel like you are working with your best friends, striving for best creative solution that you can and making a difference everyday. There is just something about it that you don’t get ‘working client-side’.

Although three years have passeed I think that my old MD was right - I am somebody who should really be working in an agency, and probably would be if I wasn’t in the lucky position to work with web agencies to provide support and help to design and build on the Microsoft platform.

This is what I now do, and this blog will be used to provide resources and information for web agencies.
