[OOF] Entering the caruggi..

Caruggio (or Carugio) is ligurian slang that means lane, little passage. They are mostly referred to Genoa, but you can find caruggis everywhere in Liguria (even in Cote d’Azur, especially in places/villages that were once part of the Republic of Genoa)
