MSDN Forums Offline Reader now available! (CTP)
Yes, after many months of discussions, testing and so on, the Team with which I had the pleasure to interact with during my internship in Seattle has finally released the MSDN Forum Client (July 08 CTP) !
But what is that? It’s an offline reader for the MSDN Forums: like a newsreader for the newsgroups, this client will let the user access the Forums without accessing them through the web interface. So faster access, easier thread manageability, and many other features. The features included in this CTP are the following:
Getting the list of available forums Subscribing to forums you're interested in Manually synchronizing the Question and General Discussion threads in a forum Reading posts that have been synchronized Hierarchical (threaded) view of conversations Right now it doesn’t have the write capabilities but I think it’s good to try and test it right now and give the team your feedback through the Discussion Lab. I would like to personally thank all the MVPs that, during the MVP Global Summit 2008 and later on e-mail threads, gave their feedback to Jeremy and the Team. And believe me, there’s more to come (yes, tons of features but also plenty of feedback I guess !
