ADFS Documentation Blog

Your source for news about current and upcoming ADFS documentation projects.
Welcome to the ADFS Documentation Blog!

My name is Nick Pierson and I'm the Technical Writer assigned to documenting the Active Directory Federation Services technology here at Microsoft. To be more specific, I own the majority of IT Professional-based ADFS content that comes out of Microsoft (both on the CD-ROM and to the Web). I work directly with the ADFS product team members to construct and then review all of the documentation that we produce.

We are working hard to produce new content for you now. In the mean time, I thought it would be good to provide you with an open line of communication where you can see what new docs are in the pipeline and also provide me with any feedback you might have related to ADFS documentation. Unfortunately, this is not a support forum for ADFS so please send ideas/feedback/questions relevant to documentation.

I will post more information about our upcoming ADFS doc projects in the next week or so. Thanks for your support!

Thanks for creating this (potentially) great feed. First let me compliment you on authoring a very well done guide.

I’m still wrapping my head around the various moving parts of ADFS, your great ADFS Guide, how to connect all the dots to make it all work and feel like I have a good handle on it.  One question is bothering me and I just can seem to figure it out:  In your step-by-step guide, why is Adam Carter prompted for credentials when attempting access either the SharePoint site or the Claims App?  What is different about his account or the setup of ADFS which causes the prompting of credentials for him, but not the Alan Shen account?

Thank you in advance for your attention and response.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your support! The first thing I would suggest is to check that the IE settings for Adamcar (specifically Internet Options/Security tab/click Local intranet/click Sites/click Advanced) points to the adatum.com Federation Service (https://adfsaccount.adatum.com). Take another look at page 63 in the guide regarding browser settings. Did that do it?

Thanks!
Nick
