leveling the playing field

I'm back from New Zealand, and another fascinating customer visit.  Guiness Gallagher is a botique consultancy, offering legal, accounting and other services to worldwide clients.  They're a small company, but manage to compete and win business against bigger firms.  In part, they attribute their success to their use of technology to help them compete.  They've deployed Vista, SharePoint, OCS and a host of other Microsoft technologies.  They also have a ringcam that they're using for their own conferences with remote consultants.  It's very slick.Their integration partner, Mabode, shared a story with me about how several times they'd invested in another technology, then saw how they could do the same cheaper using a Microsoft solution.
I was there specifically to talk about Vista, and they're pleased with what they've gotten from the deployment.  Desktop search makes it easier to find documents regardless of where they're located.  The Managing Director shared a story with me about having his laptop stolen in Beijing.  Because of their security policies and BitLocker deployment, they avoided a potential issue with loss of sensitive information.

With a stunning view of Wellington and the harbor, they have the most spectacular office location I've ever seen.

Vista, indeed.
